Alana Lord

Alana Lord has been a Professional Figure Skating Coach since 1998 and coached in both Canada and the United States.  The majority of her coaching experience was gained in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  She was a skater in the Skate Canada system and went through the various levels which are similar to USFSA.  The highest level she achieved was her Gold dance level.  During her years as a skater, she was fortunate to have been taught by one of the top coaches who was recognized as Skate Canada’s “Coach of the Year” on three separate occasions.

 

She has worked with skaters in the CanSkate (learn to skate)  programs with children and adults up through both the test stream and competitive levels.  From 2002 - 2006 she administered, planned, and coordinated a Power Skating program for both male and female hockey players.

 

Alana has the following coaching certifications:

--Certified Level I Certified Powerskate Instructor

--Certified Level II Certified Canskate Instructor

--Certified in First Aid and CPR
